Herewith my first post, and TIA for any and all replies!
Recently bought a car that had apparently been in a mild collision, and the fenders were reinstalled VERY badly out of place: left headlight is 1 1/2 inch higher than the right. Removed fenders and fender liner panels and can't find any sign of frame damage, but what should I be looking for? The large members extending from the firewall to the front suspension subframe are not bent or even scratched, and the fender liners are undamaged. After rebuilding the brake master cylinder and test driving, the car tracks straight and stops the same way, and when I set it up on a level pad and measure from various suspension points to the datum plane everything seems consistent. Replacing fenders in the correct place is no big deal, but I don't want to go into paint and body work if the chassis is crook. Comments?
