Hi All,
I've had the dry cap problem for years where the speedometer tops out around 45mph. I've been putting off the cluster disassembly because there have been so many reports lately of the resolder and cap replacement just not working. So I just live with it and if I go on a long trip just slap the Garwin gps right over the speedo. But on a recent trip I noticed and confirmed a new symptom that I was wondering if anybody else had seen. The odometer (trip and regular) is now registering about twice as many miles as it should. Example: I drive 10 real miles and the odometer registers 20 miles. Just chaulk it up to the Yazaki cap problem? Or could there be another explanation?
