Our trusty 1985 wagon, which is typically reliable, has lately been hard to start and will sometimes stall and die. Here's a clue: when it stalls, I can hear the fuel pump regulator 'buzzing'. I have a spare fuel pump regulator, and the spare does the same thing. Anyone have an idea what would cause the car to stall and the fuel pump regulator to make a buzzing sound? Here's another clue: the 25 amp fuse by the battery has blown once in the past few weeks - and the replacement, while it hasn't blown, almost looks 'melted'. I'm not sure if it's just the moisture (living in Oregon) or something else.
Any thoughts on what's wrong, or steps I could take to diagnose the problem?
Many thanks,
Aaron
