Hey everybody. This is on my 90 740Ti.
I have a front suspension clunk that happens when the car goes up and down. Ka-thunk Ka-thunk. Ka on the up, thunk on the down. I just put on a new tie rod thinking that was it - the old one wasn't even worn. I bought a balljoint locally, but now that I've been bench-pressing the car up and down, I don't think the ball joint is bad.
What are the odds that the shock is thunking around in the tube? They're about six year old boge turbo gas (ironically, not meant for turbo cars) struts.
Driving down the street sounds like I'm about to have a wheel fall off. Every bump or change in height of pavement makes it sound like the wheel is held on by a single half-there nut - in other words, it rattles like heck. Sounds like a piece of gravel in a garbage disposal or a repeated flam for any drummers out there.
I opened the hood and bounced the car - sounds like it's definitely under the car.
Any ideas?
Happy Bricking
