It is with tears in my eyes that I say goodbye to the Brickboard. It has been years of an enriching exchange of tips, knowledge and advice amongst members. I could not have kept my Volvo running so good these past years without input from such valuable members as Spook, Trichard, Chris Mullet, and many others to whom I am very grateful. Of course, a big thanks as well to Jarrod for building this great site. Wednesday night I came home to a flooded garage where my pristine 940 Turbo was parked. It got submerged under almost a meter of a sludge of mud, oil, water and debris from an incredible tropical storm. Yesterday, when the water level had been pumped down to a reasonable level, I managed to tow the car to the insurance company, who is totaling the entire car, for almost nothing. The mechanic tells me not to buy the salvage from the insurance, as he tells me flooded cars are almost impossible to fix right.
I really hope to own another Volvo down the road, as I have come to appreciate the reliability and pleasure of driving these cars, as well as being part of such a warm community as the Brickboard.
Farewell;
Juan G Castro.
