Hi guys, I'm posting about a 91 240 sedan 230k... I ended up replacing the pads on the driver's side front brake, because the passenger pads were still only about halfway worn. When I went to push the pistons back in 3 out of 4 moved well enough but the fourth bottom inside one seemed a little frozen. I think I got it in a little? maybe? Anyway, Usually i replace the rotor and get loaded calipers, but don't have the money right now. After putting in two half to 3/4 worn pads and new pins and hardware, take it for a test drive and notice its pulling to the left. So basically, I could barely squeeze the pads in there, and after driving around the block several times and letting it cool, it still seems to be pulling a little and smelling and getting real hot, not as much as the first time though. Question is, will this method of slowly wearing down the pads little by little and letting it cool actually work? Or do I just need a new caliper. I also put some brake squeal grease stuff on the pins and caliper to try and get the pads to slide better!! Thanks in advance!
