Distributor Rebuilding 200 1986

I have a need to change the impulse sender in my distributor (pn 0237520004). I have looked at various Volvo manual including Bentley's and they all talk about removing an the circlip above the trigger wheel and then prying up the trigger wheel. I've looked for a way to remove the clip to no avail. I've also tried to remove the pin from the gear on the bottom, which the parts diagram indicates will allow me to then remove the shaft and gain access to the impulse sender. However, I've been unable to remove the pin and so has a local automotive machine shop.

Has anyone disassembled this distributor, and, if so, can you please tell me how to do so?
