1990 mod. 740 hesitation when accelerating

it is my intention in this post to share info from my latest problem/solution with hesitation i was experiencing when accelerating from a stop. this problem was intermitant for sometime finally culminating in a driveability problem and check engine light. this is a regina car. obd code 121 indicated a MAP problem. when i checked out the MAP system i found that the rubber elbow at the intake manifold and the rubber connecter at the sensor were showing their age, dry and cracked. i was able to find new rubber connectors at the local autozone that fit perfectly. $5.00 and fifteen minutes later problem solved. runs like a top. wish it was always that easy.

point is that on these old girls it may be best to suspect all your hoses and rubber connectors in any driveability problem that could relate to vacumn. they're getting old.

hope this helps someone.

keep 'em rolling, chris
