switched out AMM's 200 1989

What a saga...

Hesitates very badly sometimes on acceleration. One time when it was barely running, I unplugged the AMM, but it didn't run any different.

Now, I switched out the old AMM (it was an 020, but should have been an 016) for a good used 007 I already have. Several web posts said it should work.

First time, it ran great, around the block. An hour later, it didn't want to run at all. A little while after that, it seems to be running exactly like it was on the old AMM, or maybe even worse. It got to the point it really wasn't pulling at all, so I shut it off and unplugged the AMM.

It's running almost normally with it unplugged -- just have to start out really slowly.

I don't understand what signals go *to* the AMM, for one thing. Thought maybe I could drive it for awhile and it would start running right, like my other car did after the second rebuilt AMM. It ran really badly over the weekend, and I was going to get them to give me another on Monday, but by then, it was running perfectly. Maybe I should run this 007 for a few more days, see if it'll learn to communicate the way that one did on the other car...
