Hey Bricksters,
Been a while since I posted on here but looking at a '68 RHD Amazon in Japan (JDM) with 72K km's as my first Volvo older than the '80's (owned 3 240s over the years). Appears to be in immaculate shape with no rust. Its a stick as well. I'm in Toronto, Canada and wondering what the value of a '68 RHD JDM version of the Amazon would be compared to a domestic LHD North American version of the same quality? Same or less? Reason I ask is that the particular car I'm looking at is asking me to 'name my price'... which in Japanese means, 'give a reasonable offer'. My thought is that RHD would be worth less in a collectors market but haven't been able to find any reference to gauge this. ...or could it be that in this good a shape, resale on an immaculate, low mileage 122 is the same no matter if its RHD or LHD?
Also, anyone know how much different the parts are for RHD compared to LHD? I'm assuming some brackets and probably turn signal arms, etc.? As long the JDM didn't have any strange regular maintenance parts, I'm guessing I'll be able to source most of the usual common parts through FCPGroton & IPD. I don't plan on rearranging anything in the engine bay.
Thanks,
Clayton
