Still intrigued with the notion of putting a limited slip posi-traction unit in my β66 122S coupe but need some more details please.
I got great info from former threads (mine and others).
Verified I have two stock 1966 Volvo 122S Dana 27 rear ends to work with (axle housing outer diameters 2 ΒΌβ, both tagged 4.10).
Found a used Dana 27, 10 spline Powr Lok LSD unit from an IH Scout 80 rear end with 4.27 gears.
Can such an IH Scout Powr Lok unit be properly installed and set up in a stock β66 Volvo Dana 27 differential housing, with stock axles, without causing problems? Will 4.27 Powr Lok work with my 4.10 gears?
1961 and later Amazons had LSD available as an option. 123GTs came with Dana 30, 4.56 & posi. (some or all?)
Were optional 122S posi units dealer installed into standard Volvo 122 Dana 27 housings?
Should I just drop it and go work on the 1964 Airstream?
Thanks a lot
