mysteries of the instrument panel. 200 1986

Oil pressure light comes on once the engine warms up, flickers at idle and goes off at higher RPMs. The sensor is new, wire appears sound, and a pressure test shows 50 PSI at idle. Brake failure light stays on in spite of new brakes all around. Temperature gauge was going haywire as well, so I finally replaced it with an aftermarket unit. I'm contemplating doing the same with the oil gauge, but I'm wondering if there's some relationship between the three that might hold the key.
