New Nissen Radiator - Questions

My Volvo mechanic installed a shiny, new Nissen radiator in my 240. It has several ports on the passenger's side that are capped with red plastic caps. And at the top on the same side is some type of two-connector sensor that isn't connected to anything. What are these for?
