544 Power Rack & Pinion modification?

My 544 takes a some effort for my wife to parallel park. It seems the most reasonable/simple power steering mod would be a rack & pinion. Salvage yards sell Mustang II's for as little as $75 and rebuilts are advertised for $250. It looks like it would fit very well wioth two attachment mounts ahead of the crossmember. Has anyone out there made this mod to their 544? If so, was it worth the effort in handling?
