I have a 1990 740 turbo. Recently my alternator belt broke and the car was driven about 5 miles without the belt. I replaced the belt and the car started up after a jump. The volt meter on the dash is reading in the right zone.
Before the alternator belt I was having problems with the car dieing so I replaced the CPS, ignition mod, fuel injector relay, and fuel pump relay. It turns out my problem was a bad fuel pump so I did both of those plus fuel filter and the problem went away.
Fast forward to the current issue... the car will start and once it warms up it dies periodically. It will restart after about a minute. It is starting to stall more and more often between running time.
(When I say the idle drops it's like the needle just falls and hits zero.)
From reading it sounds like my CPS might be bad (however I did just put a new one in a couple months ago).
Can anyone help on something like this? I was wondering if the belt brake might have thrown something off or maybe took out the ECU.
