So I'll tear into this on Wed, thought I'd post about it here today though incase anybody has good thoughts.
It all started about 6 weeks ago, the day before I left for a 5000 road trip to the Northwest. Night before we left I noticed a very slight clunk from the rear of the car... could not tell which side for sure (still cant, but I think it's the right (passenger side).
We took our trip, it's been 6000 miles since and now it's getting a good bit louder. Jacking up the rear today I notice slight (but noticeable) play up and down/side to side on the rear right wheel. The left side has no play...
Rear wheel bearing is my guess. There is a slim chance the brake drum is getting loose on it's tapered shaft there but I doubt it - will check that first on Wed.
If it is the rear wheel bearing, are there any words of wisdom there, I've never done that.
I need to do rear brakes anyhow, so the timing is good, I just would like it to be as quick/easy as possible.
