the odometer on my 93 240 worked occasionally, I tried resoldering the connections, it didn't help. I bought another 93 instrument cluster one on ebay, the odometer works but I had to take it apart because the abs light had been fiddled with . Now when I start the car the check engine light and oil light don't work, but if I drive for at least a half an hour the check engine light and oil light work as shut the engine and turn it on again. When I put back my old instrument cluster the lights still don't work unless it's driven for a half an hour.and of course the odometer doesn't work.
