First time changing crank position sensor. 240 1990.

Car stopped abruptly on me. Then started up, and stopped again after a few feet. I think its heat related. code 214 is stored in the computer. I can see the wire to the cps sensor is frayed. My conclusion is that the cps needs changing.
I also want to be sure the problem isnt something else thats related.

Of course Im just a little nervous because of all the talk about having to pull the tranny if I screw up. If I can get a little input here, I would feel better about it. Any observations are instructions that you have to offer would be appreciated..

I can see that its held by one bolt. Im planning to shoot a little pb blaster at it tonight, just to losen it up . Unless advised otherwise.
It doesnt look like it should be that difficult. I'll be using a 1/4" drive and extensions.

Please advise.

Thanks.
