Window Jammed in Up Position 900 1992

My driver's door window is stuck in the up position. I can hear the motor running in both up and down directions so I suspect something is off track or a gear is stripped. Question: Does this mean a whole new regulator or is there a small (cheap) part that breaks and can be replaced instead?
