Correct Oxygen Sensor (Bosch 13957) ?? 700 1991

1991 740 auto with standard engine non turbo regina system. Just got this car a couple of weeks ago. Only been driving it locally. Getting poor mileage. Just 16.5 mpg local driving. While I don't expect 25 mpg with local driving I do think I should be closer to 20 mpg or even a bit better. Thinking of changing oxygen sensor. Again I have Regina system. My oxygen sensor mounts on catalytic converter not on exhaust manifold or downpipe. I have a new Bosch # 13957 on hand. Will this work ?? If not what make/model # is correct one ?? Thanks in advance for replys/input/advice.
