tachometer stopped working 200 1982

i replaced the wireset, spark plugs, injector seals, and distributer/rotor and my tachometer stopped working. im assuming i indirectly loosened what ever controls it. i wasnt able to find anything that looked ajar. what could i have done, what should i look for?
