auto with 309k miles.:)
ran fine, stopped off for 10 minute visit got back in and no start after a cough or two. turned over fine and all, but not a hint of wanting to start.
checked 4 and 6 fuses, the 25 on fender and nada. came back an hour later, fiddled with the 25 amp fuse and holder and it started and ran fine the mile home. turned it off and now nothing again for 2 days. tank has maybe 5 gallons in it.
replaced all 3 fuses, checked #13. took apart and cleaned the 25a holder, even went to just fuse stuck in spade connectors on wires to holder. nada, coughed but nada.
the relay clicks when i turn key to II and other contact in relay closes when i crank. when i turn key on to II , i don't hear the main pump. when i jump left side of 4 and 6 fuse, i hear pump and when listened it appears to be just the intank pump and not main. the main was replaced in 1/05 and has maybe 95k on it.
any other reason ( other than failing) that the main would not work other than those i have tried? how can i take intake pump out of 'jumping' equation and just listen for main?
side note. the TB and tensioner have gone maybe 60k. could the timing have slipped? the fact i got home and ran after the initial no start makes me doubt this.
i'm going with main pump as cause and waiting to see what you guys and gals chime in with.
rainy and gloomy today here in anchorage, so good day to work on stuff and not hike.
