Question about rear camshaft oil seal plug. 200

I am having a small oil leak issue with my 87 240. I can't tell if the leak is from the valve cover gasket or the round plug at the back of the head. How likely is it for the plug to leak just a little bit? The flame trap is clear and I have the bracket that holds the plug in place.
My question is, how difficult is it to remove and replace that plug with the engine in place, and how is it done? Should the plug be glued in place with some gasket cement? Thanks in advance for the replies!
