Hi -
I'm driving a '93 940 wagon, no turbo, 208,000 miles on the clock.
Recent spark plug and wire change, new thermostat, new flamer retarder, no vacuum leaks, fresh oil change, proper tire pressure.
The brick starts right up and runs pretty smoothly. The old spark plugs tips had a nice, grey color, and there is no black soot on the tailpipe. It's not burning oil.
Here's my issue - with 70% city/30% higway driving, I'm getting about 16 mpg - pretty disappointing in my book. Is this par for the average with this model, or do I have more work to do in order to get more reasonable mileage?
I like my Vovlo a great deal, but only getting 16 mpg may well be a deal breaker.
I'd like to hear from other 940 owners, and thanks in advance.
Dan
