car smoking 200 1991

Hello all,
So I just picked up the 91 wagon that just got painted. I want to thank you all on advice for the tires. I'm going in the morning to get them put on.
Okay so as I driving home I look in the rear view mirror and I see smoke. Now this car is one that I just bought before thanksging. After having it checked out I purchased. I took it straight to my trusty volvo guy. We did all the minor and major tune ups. Watr pumps, belts, you name it. Well what would cause it to be smoking??? I concerned, it did not smoke when I bought it. It is white smoke and smells stange. Is it because the care has been sitting or a few months. I live about 6 miles from my shop. Is that enough time for it to get the Cobwebs out of it??? I just w worry wart I know, but I just want the alomst perfect 240 and I strive for nothing less. Should I add some "smoke be gone" or something. When we inspected the car before buying we did notice any oil under the car. I'm stumped??
