Hello Bricksters!
Last summer, I officially became the owner of the family Volvo 244 with 272K miles. She was left out in the driveway for a year before I decided to resurrect her. With a new gas tank, timing belt, battery, tires and other things I've never heard of, she's as good as new now.
My dad bought the car when I was only 2, so she's become a sort of historical symbol that I just can't bear to let go of.
In the next few years, I'd like to replace the dashboard (it's cracked from the North Carolina sun) and perhaps the seat upholstery on the driver's side seat. The interior is blue, which is apparently hard to come by in junk yards.
My dad thinks I'm crazy obsessing over this car, but I'm a history student, so naturally it's a source of pride that a car built in 1985 is still running.
One question: What kind of routine maintenance should I expect to have done? I've only driven about a thousand miles since I had all the work done to get her running again.
Thanks in advance!
