I have a 92 940 sedan with an AW71 and the 1041 axle, with locking diff? i have an fairy rusty (mostly in the floors) 88 240 with the dana 30 and an m47 Both non-turbo. Im leaning more toward staying with the 940 and parting out the 240 but the biggest reason i wanna do this is because i want to convert the AW trans to a m47 in my 940..... I found an article on the web by a gentlemen who converted his 780 to an M46? he seems to had to source alot of hydralic clutch parts but my m47 is a cable clutch, and there no serperate overdrive to deal with.....? So I dunno..... I always was thinking instead of seperating it from the engine... just to transplant the entire drivetrain (engine and trans) into the 940 but i dont thing the 240 had the provisions for the RPM sensor... Also the 940 is a Rex/regina..... with the cam driven distributor... the 240 bosch with the side driven distributor..... the 240 is well worn in..... i know some of the parts ill need... transmount, clutch pedal, driveshaft? Really just kinda branstorming if it worth doing.... is this locking diff gonna play havoc? Let me know what you think....
