Low Oil; camshaft seized. Opinions on hopes for salvaging? 900 1995

My daughter's car ran low of oil and the camshaft seized causing the camshaft sprocket/bolt to break off.

I have removed the camshaft cover to see what is going on and at this point I don't see anything. Someone has recommended removing the camshaft next.

What hopes do I have have that this is salvageable? Is it time for her to just look for another car?
