LH 3.1 92 245 that has been sitting in the unheated garage for the past two weeks, engine just turned 50K miles since full rebuild.
When I started the car this morning it was 20F outside and for the first few seconds the engine knocked very loudly. I haven't heard knocking that loud since I had the distributor way too far advanced on a Ford 390. Oil and fuel pressure are all within the norm for a cold start. The knock went away within 2 to 3 seconds and it ran fine afterwards.
Just curious if anyone else has run into this situation. Note this is the coldest weather this engine has been run in since it was rebuilt and I can assure you that it wasn't piston slap (have heard that on other B230F engines before.
Thanks in advance!
