Two Questions regarding my 1990 780 Turbo

The first question is whether any of you have run into false dipstick readings on your B230FT? When it gets down and I pull the dipstick ... I find that on one side of the stick nothing will be showing ... but on the other it definitely shows down 1/2 liter. Every time I, like a fool, believe the 1/2 liter down, I am soon greeted with a flashing oil light on sharp intersections .... so obviously it is down more than 1/2 liter ... I then add and the light goes away. Just curious if anyone else has run across this phenomenon.

My second question is regarding my leaking sun roof. I have had the roof adjusted so that it is closing as it should, but whenever I go to the car wash or there is a heavy rainfall, I find myself being showered and have water running out of the ceiling light fixture. I priced a new gasket at Volvo of Halifax and even with my club discount it listed at CDN$425. OUCH!! Is there any alternative out there?.... Other than Duct Tape of course..... ;-)
