Clutch, ujoint, or clutch petal spring? 200

Okay, so my clutch felt like it was slipping the other day, and I smelled buning clutch/plastic smell I am not sure which. I tested out my clutch yesterday, by putting it in a high gear at a low speed my clutch did not slip at full throttle. I was sure I needed a new clutch, but it passed this test. Sometimes when I start out from a stop in first gear the clutch or rear end feels a little hoppy. Sometime the clutch slipps sometimes it does not. could the return spring on the clutch petal be causing this? When it feels like it is slipping I can put the top of my foot behind the clutch petal and pull up on the petal and then I get no slippage. Could I have a bad u-joint causing the rear end/clutch feel jumpy. I am not sure if it is the rear end, but it almost feels like the clutch is clapping. I need help I appreciate any advice.
