Safe Removal of Rear hatch/Window Struts 1800 1972

Peace to All Volvoites,

Could any of you guys tell me how to get the struts off the mounting pads on the rear liftback/window of my 1800ES ?

I do not want to experiment with new techniques if you guys already know a way to remove them without busting or chipping the window.

Also replaced the ECT Sensor and the rear shocks, it runs almost perfect now with the new ECT Sensor installed, Air Filter, and stiffened the ride with the new shocks in back. Healthy Volvo Improvements !

Thanks in Advance,

CJ
