Every now and then I do some really dumb things but I have to confess to out doing myself in that department today. I had some wiring left on a project control panel that is going in the 88 765 so I tackled the completion this morning. The job went so smoothly that I decided to test my handy work, forgetting about the set of heavy duty jumper cables that I had left on top of the motor two days ago.
Fortunately, the cables only tore off one of the fan blades and busted the alternator belt when they wrapped around the crank pulley. The power steering belt did not break when it rolled off to the engine side of the pulley, but probably should be replaced anyway.
I can't remember having this sort of thing happen twenty years ago, but I couldn't remember the jumper cables either.
Regards,
