Finally got the turbo and manifold out of my 1988 740 Turbo - the exhaust gaskets were toast and one stud was broken (never even got to try removing the nut) a few millimeters below the surface of the head. So - I can either try to drill out the stud (using left hand bits), worst case is I can't do it and have to pull the head. Or skip that step and just pull the head - the car has 242k miles on the original head gasket and turbo and will be due for a timing belt in 12k miles. I'd hate to put it all back together just to have the HG go, on the other hand I'm probably going to sell it and need it back together cheaply/soon. I've done a HG on a B21F so I think I can handle this one now that the exhaust manifold is out. Should I leave the head alone or just go ahead and remove it? Could use a shove in one direction...
