So I did some experimenting today with the genuine Volvo voltage gauge. There has been talk here about the lack of graduations on this particular gauge, and I was curious as to what the various points on the meter were actually indicating. I have an old adjustable power supply so I hooked it up to that with my cheap digital voltmeter. I found the following:
Bottom of the low orange range is about 9.25 volts
Bottom of the black range is 11.4

Midpoint of the gauge (needle pointing to 'L' in the world "Volts" 12.8

Point where my car usually rides is around 13.75

Top of the black range is about 14.4

Top of upper orange range is 16 (like it says)
Don't know if anyone else cares but since I did the tests I figured I'd share what I found.
