Help me here... where is the spring or whatever that brings the shifter to rest where it does when in neutral?
When putting the car in Neutral, the shifter has a set position. The set position is between 3rd and 4th gear. Something let lose where if I pull the shifter to the left (between 1st and 2nd) it sits there.. no springyness to bring it back to what used to be it's default position.
It's not the Shifter bushing issue.. it's something else.
I'm used to stopping the car , putting it in neutral and before I let up on the clutch pedal I have a habit of pushing the shifter toward me a few times and watch it snap back just to make sure I'm in neutral.. One day it snapped back, last night.. it does not. The worst of it, Believe it or not, is it makes it hard to find 3rd gear when the shifter doesn't line itself up.
I haven't looked at the Manuals yet .. Just hoping someone had this problem and can lead me directly to the fix.
