hello,
i was picking up some spare parts for my recently bought 94 944, and saw a completely intact, nothing wrong '93 244, (not the classic).
on the windshield was an up-to-date registration & an inspection sticker that passed two months ago. it was traded in as a clunker.
i couldn't believe it. how did this car get on the gov list? >18 mpg, right??
not only that, i asked about buying the engine...no sir. that's the only thing that can't be sold which includes the head...not even the head.
the 93 b230f motor has the oil squirters, right?
that manifold had no dirt on it, so the car must have been recently serviced.
there must have been some under-the-table dealing for a 93 volvo to get accepted as a clunker at a dealer.
broke my heart. i may go back and see if i can buy the car without the drive train.
regards,
byron golden
