Hello all again,
Alright, after several trails at static timing thi 245 DL wagon, Im getting close but running into some issues. Of course ive made sure that both the crank and cam shafts are true... whats been left is an issue with the int. shaft which I can seem to nail out.
I though what I had was it, and after a short drive, the acceleration was there, the umpf which I didnt have before. (this all following a recent DIY timing belt change). Except the point of an odd sound on the 'lifters' imidiatly after acceleration. It sounded of a clicky clack kinda chatter.
So this morning after thuro reading yesterday, I went at it again to assue my 'teeth between the cam and int. shaft'. (high respect to Art for his discriptive diagram on another post).
Ok, so I was set at 45 teeth between the Cam, and Int. shafts. The diagrams notes of 44 sparked my change. Closed it all back up, and fired er' up...
Ok, not what I expected. The general Idle sound is a lower pitch and smoother granted... but upon another short drive, theres really no bottom end acceleration. IE=very sluggish. Not that this matters to me as im never in a rush, but is this the best setting? Any possible adjusments elswise to help here?
Also, at idle and sitting for a min. theres an odd random occilation of the whole eninge. The motor mounts dont look to be to worn, but its very irregular with no particular pattern. Any thoughts on this as well?
Wheew...a mouthful. Thanks for your time in consideration. Big respect to all.
