My sister has a 940 station wagon with 120,000 miles on it in Atlanta and needs a Volvo mechanic. I'm a 240 owner living in Pa. She wants to keep the car, but has a disabled daughter and needs a good mechanic because she knows nothing about cars and she needs this car to run. Symptons: car shudders after starting and cuts out. I had her run it down to empty and re-fill with gas just to check whether gas was the issue, but the problem remains. New sympton which she revealed today: car shuts off and will not crank. Turns key and will not fire. She also says the car will not go into gear, but I think that's a function of the car shutting off and her letting it roll into a parking space where it would not restart and where it sits now. Any other diagnosis at this distance -- fuel pump, filter, spark problem, charging system, starter, coil, is impossible.

Anyone know an honest Volvo mechanic in or near downtown Atlanta? Or Buckhead?
