Kickdown cable time any tips? 200

So I finally finished my brake job,2 weeks, wrong parts came in,rain, plus I wanted to paint the calipers and rotors. Now I need to replace the kickdown cable. The bentley book has it pretty much straight forward.Only the rotating of a cog may be an issue.I know sometimes the devil is the the unknown.I have done a lot work on my volvos but never the cable. So for those who have replaced the cable, did you encounter any problems that I should be aware of?Also on a tranny flush,do I need a special hose or could I just disconnect a line somewhere and maybe add a piece of hose to that to drain into a container.thanks
