Okay, I'm going to use the sawed-off 12 gauge on my car- the latest on my possessed 245 conversion project! 200

Okay so here's the latest in my Saga for trying to get this possessed project car that I'm going to break out the sawed-off 12 gauge "wrench" if this

situation doesn't change. First I started out getting ready to check for vacuum leaks on the engine like sdewolfe suggested by starting the engine. I

then loosened the jam nut and the idle speed stop screw & I realized that I had an oil leak from the valve cover because the gasket tore when I removed the

cover to check the cam lobe position earlier. Well I had a spare valve cover gasket so I went ahead and shut down the engine and changed it. Then I went to

start the engine and guess what? No start. Surprise,Surprise. So I removed the #1 spark plug again and checked for spark and of course there's no spark. So I

went to the Bentley manual and did all of the ignition system troubleshooting checks in the book and they told me that the problem was that the Ignition

control unit is bad. So I have 2 spares from my donor cars so I removed the old one and had to switch all 8 of those pesky little sleeves onto the pins to

the replacment unit. After all of that I went ahead and checked spark again and it's good. So while I had the #1 spark plug still out I went ahead and

checked the distributor setting and aligned the rotor to the groove on the distributor housing ensuring that it was also lined up with the #1 spark plug

wire at TDC on the compression stroke. I then tightened the distributor
adjustment bolt. I the tried to start the engine again and still no start. So,

what gives? I've got spark, I've got fuel, I've got air. It's timed right
because as many of you may remember I already reset the timing belt so my

timing should be right. So, this is my final plea. If I don't at least have
this car running in 1 week I'm going to call it SOLD and I'm done with these

cars! I've had it with all of this. I would like to say that I've really appreciated everyones' efforts in helping me with my situation. Thanks for all

of your help, Charles
