water in the brake lights 200 1986

86 240 sedan

It rained last night and this morning I noticed about 1 inch of water in both of the outer/lower brake lights. These are the stock (OEM) assemblies.

I'm thinking about drilling a tiny drain hole in each location - has anyone tried this? Obviously I don't want to crack them in the process ...

Also, could someone please tell me which bulb is used to light up which position the automatic gear selector is in?

Thanks for the help!
