92 245 heater fan replacement,Bently manual no help, how to get around the air bag lump? 200

i have done the heater fan before on earlier 240's,but my wife's 92 has the driver air bag, so there is this lump of plastic bulging down right where i want to go in at the heater fan...any tips? thanks ,Kris
