water leak near heater hose on block 900

My daughter's 94 940 developed a major water leak coming from somewhear near heater hose with trmp valve. I replaced that hose, it was bad. After trying it out, there was still a leak, but not as bad. Do you think she blew a head gasket
or a freeze plug back there. I couldn't see where the leak is coming from due to the intake manifold being in the way. Any ideas?
