So my father, who's a former mechanic, gave me some advice on my Volvo. He says my exhaust sputtering is because I have a dead cylinder (bad valves) & thats part of my burning oil problem. He thinks im not getting any power, part of the 4 strokes, or something like that. He said it costs only around $200 to get new valves.

Does that make sense to you guys, pricewise?
