I'm glad to be returning to the Volvo-owning world after a 3 year hiatus. These are great cars!
I purchased my 1987 245 a couple months ago, drove it sparingly and then parked it for 3 weeks. During the last drive before my trip, it began to sputter while driving on the highway and lost power, but by driving conservatively I was able to keep it going. After pulling off, it died. I was able to get it re-started and limp home. I was able to get it started one additional time after troubleshooting.
Description:
- cranks, but not firing
- with ignition on, fuel pump (and I presume injectors?) click off-and-on
- plugs/cap/rotor/coil are good
- appears that the wiring harness is not at fault
Any ideas?
Thanks!!
