Brake MC Reservoir 120-130

So I'm now flushing and bleading the brakes. The inside of the plastic reservoir on top of the MC is coated in black gunk. I've wiped out the one compartment that is below the filler cap but can't really get to the rear compartment. I've read something about removing the whole plastic piece, but am a bit afraid of messing things up.

Can I remove it without tearing or otherwise ruining the MC.

Getting the MC Reservoir "clean looking" is just me being anal, but anyone have any thoughts or experience.

Thanks Pat.
