I have been searching both the Turbobricks forums and this site for info on this procedure, but I still have questions. I have a 1992 940 Turbo wagon (sideswiped at the "B" pillar) and a 1987 740 Turbo sedan (pulled into the yard with a dead trans) in my local pick and pull yard and the thought of converting my car is becoming increasingly tempting. I have NA 1984 GL 240 wagon with an automatic trans. My current thoughts are to use the long block and trans out of the 940 (it has the correct oil galley for oil squirters). My first question is: which ECU/Jetronic is the better choice? LH 2.2 or 2.4? I have heard assorted stories of ECU failures in the 2.4 version. Is 2.2 free from major system problems? Which is the better turbo: Mitsu TD04(940) or the Garrett T3(740)? I have heard the TD04 has less turbo lag... Can the 7xx/9xx downpipe off the turbo be used in the 240 body? Can the accessories off of a NA B230 be mounted on a turbo motor? Any other comments or suggestions from those that have done the conversion?
Thanks,
Nick
