Throttle body poor idle dying 200

I finally decided to the throttle body. 1990 244 sedan. It is very easy. Just three 13 mm, use box end and rachet, and make sure you have a three mm hex wrench that is not connected to a bunch of others. The rest is screwdrivers. And to get the back hex undo the three 13mm nuts so you can twist up and around the throttle body to get an easy position in order to access the last hex. Make sure you pull the two vacuum lines on top. Before the cleaning, My car needed me to raise the revs to 1500 or so for the first three minutes to get the car warmed up, then it would idle ok or like it wanted to die. The throttle body was coated and the bore and both sides of the butterfly with 1mm of black gunk, no brass or aluminum was visible. Well after one can of carburator cleaner and plenty of elbow grease with rough sponge pad and brush it looked new. I could see a nice uniform brass color as well as the aluminum body. Put it all back together and now it idles ten times better. I just turn the key without my foot being on the gas and it idles good.

I also took the plastic baffle tube that runs from air mass meter to throttle body. It was filthy, I cleaned it thoroughly and noticed five or six holes in it. I wasnt about to pay volvo for some overpriced part, so I said what would a cuban do, I PLUGGED THE HOLES ON THE CLEAN PLASTIC WITH A THICK LAYER OF EPOXY. Worked great and it was basically free.

Also I would recommend picknpull if you have one near you. I bought a new used window scraper for 6 bucks, new used rear taillight assembly with circuit board and all bulbs and holders(it had a crack in it and a small piece broke off, I epoxied it all together and covered the crack with epoxy, but all sections of the taillight assemble were very clear). I bought a used outside mirror assembly for 20 bucks. And I grabbed some bleeder valves which they gave to me after I showed them, they must of thought they were screws for something. You must bring your own tools and pull the parts off yourself. They charge two dollars just to get in.
