stalling when engine warm 200

Hello there, I badly need help. I have a 1990 UK spec 240 with a b230f engine.
Sometime ago I started having a problem whereby the car would stall without any warning. It would happen after about 45 mins of driving - never when cold. Then I would not start, tumble over fine but no start. After it stalled, it would take about 5 - 1o mins of cooldown time and then restart. I decided that I would give it a general overhaul while trying to find the problem. Over the past months I have changed - get this list, AMM, Idle air valve, plugs, plug wires, coil, coolant temp sensor, knock sensor, distributor cap and rotor, fuel filter, fuel pump, intank fuel pump - which I did not even know was dead, crankshaft sensor, fuel relay, power stage, I have no 25 amp fuse in engine, throttle body, tps, main fuel line,I have probably forgotten a few things. To tell the truth - at cold the car drives like a new car. All parts new or known to be good used - off donor car.

However, now I have a situation where after about 30 mins with engine warm - the car will stall. It will idle all day but as soon as you touch the throttle the car will just not idle. The car tries to idle and sometimes the tach will go down to about 500 and then idle up to 800. Most of the time when the engine is warm the idle will just die. And it does not die as though you cut the electrics or turn the key off. If you notice the idle dying you can idle it up with the accelerator and if you are gentle and lucky enough it might idle for itself afterwards. When you stall it starts back up straight away like nothing was wrong with it and sometimes it will idle for itself - that is until you press the throttle and then the same thing happens again - it stalls.

One other thing is that when the car is at the stalling stage, or even after you stall and it starts up I can hear the main fuel pump making a lot of noise under the car. Almost as though it is starving for fuel. But it can't be cause it will rev all the way up to red line. On the highway the car will do any speed for any period of time but when you come to a stop it won't idle.

I am all out of ideas. I thought I knew about these cars - but this has just got me stumped. The other thing is that I tried playing with the wires in the engine bay to see if it would cut off - but nothing. I plan to switch the ECU but whatelse can I check.
